Horizon CC T20 Champions

The Horizon Girls Cricket team have been crowned T20 National Champions!

Starting in April, we qualified through 4 regional matches to be crowned Northern Champions, earning us the right to compete for the National title against 3 other regional winners. Due to adverse weather conditions in Oxford over the weekend and Monday, the matches took place on Tuesday.

Horizon won the semi final by 9 wickets with 11 balls to spare, beating Taunton School (Somerset).

In the final, against Hurstpierpoint College (Sussex), an absolutely outstanding bowling and fielding display saw HurstPP all out for 88, before Horizon chased down the 89 needed for victory for the loss of only 1 wicket with 20 balls to spare.

Every girl in the side played an amazing part, led by their incredibly skilful captain, that over the Summer also gained for first cap for Yorkshire First Ladies 11; Adrianna Darlow.

Congratulations to the following pupils

Adrianna Darlow Y11, Ellie Williams Y11, Darcy Hancock Y11, Tiegan Bligh Y11, Lucie Barlow Y11, Imogen Butcher Y11, Emilia Rossi Y10, Anika Hill Y10, Neve Stretton Y10, Katie Hay Y8, Klaudia Kuklinska Y8, Louise Biggins Y8 and Evie Mitchell Y8.
